The Obliteration Room is a part of the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art designed by artist Yayoi Kusama. Created like a simple but large studio apartment, it was painted in white all over, including the furniture and furnishings making it a huge white canvas.
A brilliantly straightforward but creatively inspired idea was thought of to give this blank shell space a character of its own. The children, who visited the museum, were given thousands of colored dot stickers and were encouraged to stick them as per their imagination to any nook and corner of the apartment. The result? A vivacious blast of colors converted the simple white apartment into a creative masterpiece! What an idea!
