How close to nature can we get to escape from the commotion and confusion of our modern lives? Well, designers Tham & Videgard Arkitekter have created a hotel which eliminates all gaps between nature and you by constructing the hotel room right on the trees. The Tree Hotel is located in the far north of Sweden, near the small village of Harads, close to the polar circle.

The rooms are a mirrored glass box suspended round the trunk of a tree reflecting the forest and sky. The size of the rooms is 4x4x4 meter cube sufficient to house two people, with a double bed, bathroom, living room and roof terrace. The concept is to promote eco-tourism and let the people enjoy the beauty of nature in Sweden. The designers haven taken due care not to hurt the birds colliding with the reflective glass, by laminating the glass panes with a transparent ultraviolet color, visible only to the birds.
